Goodwill Thanks the Community for 421,050 Pounds! >>

Goodwill would like to thank the individuals and businesses in our community that helped to make our 2007 Annual Appeal such a big success. The goal of the Annual Appeal was to raise 300,000 pounds of gently-used clothing and household items by the end of the year. We have completed our calculations of donations and we are pleased to report that Goodwill has received 421,050 pounds of donated goods!

Individuals and families can donate gently used clothing and household items to any Goodwill retail store and receive a tax receipt. You can deduct the value of your donations (typically 25% of the items original cost) on your 2007 tax return. This is the perfect time of year to clean out your closets and make way for new items received over the holidays. You will receive a tax credit while also benefiting the local community.

Goodwill Super Store Opens In Westfield >>

Goodwill Industries of the Springfield/Hartford Area, Inc. invites the general public to attend the Grand Opening Celebration for their new Super Store in Westfield. The new store is located on Route 20 in Westfield in the former CVS building at 47-51 Franklin Street. It has been freshly remodeled and is brimming with wonderful merchandise.

Goodwill Industries of the Springfield/Hartford Area, Inc. will be opening a new Goodwill Superstore on Route 20 in Westfield (the former CVS building at 47-51 Franklin Street). Goodwill is currently remodeling the facility to prepare for the store’s grand opening, scheduled for early August.

On June 13, 2007, your Goodwill Team visited the Capitol Hill offices to visit with Congressman Richard Neal (2nd District MA) and with Congressman John Larson’s dedicated staff (1st District CT). Later that evening, at a Congressional Reception hosted inside our nation’s Capitol Building, ESS Springfield & GSE Hartford were awarded a beautiful glass trophy and $5,000 for placing 2nd in a national engineering contest.

Goodwill Industries of the Springfield/Hartford Area, Inc. is now accepting old computers, monitors and peripherals for recycling. Goodwill is excited to be offering this service to area individuals and businesses, providing them with an environmentally-friendly way to dispose of old computer systems. The recycling process will be handled by Goodwill's workforce, creating jobs in our community.

Goodwill's 2006 Annual Appeal that ran from November through December was a huge success. The goal of the Annual Appeal was to raise 100,000 pounds of gently-used clothing, toys and household items by the end of the year. Goodwill has completed their calculations of donations and they are pleased to report that they received 273,000 pounds of donated goods and over $8,000 in financial donations. Goodwill would like to thank the individuals and businesses in our community that helped to make this appeal such a big success.

Goodwill Launches Annual Appeal >>

Goodwill Industries of the Springfield/Hartford Area, Inc. is currently requesting donations of gently used clothing, toys and household items. Donations from families and individuals in our community will help Goodwill Industries reach their Annual Appeal goal of collecting 100,000 pounds of donated goods by the end of the year. This will translate into $50,000 when those donations are sold in one of Goodwill's local retail stores. Goodwill will also accept financial donations.
